We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and skilled full-time State Workshop Manager (Heavy Vehicle / Diesel Mechanic) to join our team in SA, overseeing our two busy workshops in Wingfield and North Plympton.

Tasks will involve but not be limited to the following: Ensure that fleet vehicle maintenance is of the highest standard.
Supervise staff to ensure that targets and deadlines are being achieved.
Communicate with Managers, Workshop Foreman, and co-workers so that work requirements and targets are met.
Deliver strategies to minimise vehicle downtime.
Ensure that parts and labour costs are controlled and maintained within budgetary limits.
Manage external contractors and outside resources to achieve the efficient completion of all maintenance and repair work, where applicable.
Manage staff levels at each of the workshops overseen; arrange to cover shortfalls in staff numbers or workload increases due to breakdowns or other unforeseen events.
Liaise with the QSE Manager and IMS Team on matters relating to workshop and plant safety, training, safety and procedural audits, corrective actions, and interim safety checks.
Assist senior management in planning fleet movements and major repairs.
To personally work on outstanding jobs when necessary, and assist staff in carrying out their duties.
The successful applicant will possess: Experience and solid skills in managing staff.
A current heavy rigid truck driver's license.
Familiarity with Quality Assurance & Occupational Health & Safety.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Experience in hydraulics, automotive electrics, or welding is not essential, but would be an advantage, as would a forklift licence.
Previous experience in a similar role would also be highly regarded.
A generous rate will be negotiated, depending on experience.
