Senior Practitioner
Senior Practitioners are responsible for delivering specialist advice, guidance and oversight to ensure high-quality child protection services. These services include assessment, intervention, casework and case management, all delivered in accordance with legislation and practice guidelines.
The Senior Practitioner provides practice supervision individually and in groups to Child Safety Officers and Senior Child Safety Officers.
* Ensuring specialist accountable, collaborative and integrated child protection services that respect each child's culture and context are delivered in accordance with departmental policies, procedures, statutory responsibilities and practice standards.
* Developing systems, processes and strategies linked to legislative, policy and practice standards to optimize the quality of child protection service delivery.
* Providing practice supervision to support a 'quality practice' and continuous improvement in service delivery.
* Establishing relationships with Senior Team Leaders, Child Safety Officers and Senior Child Safety Officers to build capability and skills in child protection service delivery.
* Facilitating group practice development sessions to build child protection capability within the service centre.
* Supporting staff across the region in complex matters within their specialist knowledge area.
* Participating as a member of the service centre management team and in quality assurance reviews.
* Providing authoritative advice on complex casework matters, child protection policy, legislation and practice.
* Enhancing community by promoting excellence in service delivery and public administration.
