This role sits within the Financial Risk Modelling team that is responsible for developing Credit Risk models and performing advanced analytics across the Group to provide key risk and business insights. The team develops estimates for Probability of Default, Loss Given Default and Exposure at Default for retail credit portfolios. These estimates are used across all CBA lending business units, including ASB and Bankwest for regulatory capital calculations, provisioning and stress testing.
On a day-to-day basis you will:
1. Actively contribute to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of key credit risk models that are used across CBA.
2. Generating insights for CBA's credit portfolios, by building statistical models and performing analyses with sound application of advanced statistical techniques, using R and Python.
3. Interact with other teams involved in the credit modelling lifecycle across CBA, including independent model validation, business unit risk teams, and model users.
4. Participate in projects to improve the agility and efficiency of model development activities.
5. Thoroughly documenting the modelling results and the thought process around the choice of modelling methodology in a concise and user-friendly form, to enable stakeholders to independently validate the final model and assess its impact.
We are interested in hearing from people who have:
6. Practical experience in Quantitative Modelling or Data Analytics.
7. Experience in modelling using R or Python, using version control and collaboration platforms like GitHub, applying appropriate Machine Learning algorithms, and working and maintaining datasets using Teradata SQL or Microsoft SQL.
8. Demonstrated skills in written and verbalmunication, including ability to interpret and reportplex material and make sound rmendations to a range of stakeholders.
9. Diligent, collaborative and entrepreneurial work-style delivering error-free output using innovative techniques and working with remote and on-site teams across the unit to drive improved risk analytics.
10. Experience in developing or awareness of credit risk models to predict risk estimates such as PD, LGD and EAD to support credit risk decisions is an advantage.
11. Tertiary qualifications, with above average academic achievements, in a Quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Engineering and Data Science.
