The group is accountable to formulate and execute Urban Utilities' digital & data strategy, deliver Urban Utilities digital portfolio and provide day-to-day operations of information technology (IT), operating technology (OT), data, and the Internet of Things (IOT), including security, infrastructure management, system administration, network operations, and support services.Reporting to the Senior Manager Digital Design, the Solution Design & Assurance Lead is accountable for ensuring the quality, efficiency, and appropriateness of Urban Utilities' solution designs across various digital platforms and technology landscapes.Leading a team of Architects and Analysts, this role is responsible for leading the creation of end-to-end solution designs and overseeing the assurance processes to align with Urban Utilities' digital objectives and critical outcomes as outlined in digital and data strategy and plans. This involves collaborating closely with senior stakeholders throughout the organisation to design and evolve existing solution architectures to support the delivery of technology roadmaps.The position entails establishing robust governance frameworks and decision-making protocols while overseeing the adoption and integration of tools and repositories for managing solution design artefacts in accordance with established standards.About you: A Bachelor's degree in IT or Computer Science, complemented by significant industry knowledge and experience.Relevant qualifications in architecture (e.g., TOGAF) would be highly desirable.Demonstrated experience in delivering digital solution architectures within a large, complex organisation in a climate of transformational change to the technology landscape.Strong knowledge of new and emerging digital trends and an understanding of how they will impact business service models in IT, OT, IOT & data environments.Highly developed capability in the design of large-scale, user-friendly, customer-focused systems.Strong experience in security-related work as it applies to system and solution design.International Information System Security Certification ISC2 and CISSP qualifications are highly desirable.Familiarity with the water sector or similar industries, understanding the role of digital transformation.Minimum 5 years' experience running a similar multi-function unit in a large organisation, ideally with a customer-centric model. This applies to these domains:Engaging with stakeholders to identify business requirements.Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and leading innovation in the technology space.Leading, managing, and directing a team of professionals in the design of end-to-end solutions in a complex environment.Performance of 'on call' duties are an inherent requirement of this role. This requires that the employee must be available to be on-call and to attend to work matters, both in person and remotely, outside of normal working hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, as reasonably required to fulfill the requirements of the position. At all times whilst on-call, you must be fit for duty, contactable, and able to respond to the operational needs of the business within a reasonable timeframe and in a safe manner.
