We have an excellent opportunity for a skilled and experienced Open Systems Engineer - OpenShift to join ourputershare Technology Services (CTS) team in Yarra Falls, Melbourne. If you're looking for a job that challenges you and gives you opportunities to grow, you've found the right role.
A role you will love
In this role, you will report to the Team Lead and work within the Services Operations department. The Open Systems Team is responsible for providing 2nd and 3rd line technical Infrastructure support for all of CTS customers and clients. As an OpenShift System Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing customer experience through investigating and resolving system faults, enabling our customers to run their operations effectively.
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to support a team of Systems Engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and excellence in our services.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
1. Providing 2nd and 3rd Line support to Business escalated via the 'Service Now' system
2. Ensuring the availability andpliance of all Server Systems withpany standards
3. Maintaining logical and physical security measures where appropriate.
4. Managing both hardware and software systems
5. Coordinating hardware and software fault resolution per maintenance agreements and problem management protocols
6. Building proactive and constructive professional relationships with other teams and departments
7. Providing day-to-day support for Red Hat and other variations of Linux servers and their respective hardware
8. Assisting with Proof of Concept (POC) and deployment activities
9. Participating in a project collaborating with Delivery Engineers in the Global Planning and Delivery team
10. Contributing to the On-Call roster for the Server/Platform team to address high-severity incidents
What will you bring to the role?
You will demonstrate previous experience as an OpenShift System Engineer or have a clear passion for the role.
Other key skills required for the role include:
11. Extensive expertise and proficiency in the installation, operation, and recovery of Linux operating systems, as well as Open Shift Clusters and Nodes.
12. Over 3 years of experience in installing and configuring OpenShift container platform clusters and migrating/upgrading OpenShift environments.
13. Over 3 years of experience in node management: addition, deletion, label updates, pod listings, etc.
14. Experience checking the health of the environment including status of the nodes, pods, repository management, connectivity, Intel architecture (Cisco UCS a plus), orchestration toolsets (Ansible, Chef), virtualization using KVM and AHV.
15. Understanding of load balancing technology, preferred experience with Citrix NetScaler
16. Able to work with both technical and those with limited understanding of technical concepts.
17. Excellent stakeholder management andmunication skills (both verbal and written)
18. Ability to manage multiple change work streams, often across many technologies.
19. Strong accountability and results-oriented, with ability to set priorities independently, provide follow-through, and meet objectives.
20. Understanding of ITIL v3 processes and functions
