About the OPPORTUNITY We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project/Electronic Engineer with knowledge of Electronics or Radio Frequency systems to join our ROAS delivery team based at either Liverpool Street or North Ryde, NSW.
The Project/Electronic Engineer will work within the Air Traffic Management (ATM) Project team, under the direction and support of the PEM to ensure a systems oriented, integrated approach is achieved through project engineering development and verification activities.
Our mission is to provide continuing support to Surveillance & Control System Program Office (S&CSPO) and their suite of ATM systems which includes; FTACAN, DTACAN, AMACCS, TVSS platforms and ATCOM services.
System sites are geographically dispersed across Australia, owned, operated and maintained by the RAAF and BAE System personnel which makes for a complex and interesting role.

Key responsibilities include: Derive, analyse and manage electrical system/ equipment requirements Participate in requirements reviews Develop simple electrical system/ equipment architectural designs to meet established set of requirements Undertake functional and circuit analysis to determine strengths and weaknesses of candidate electrical system/ equipment solutions Translate the electrical system/ equipment design into a manufacturable solution and incorporate changes as required Undertake engineering management of the electrical system/ equipment manufacture Undertake the integration and validation of the electrical system/ equipment design including contributing to the integration and validation plans and reports Support electrical systems/ equipment qualification activities to ensure that the product meets all requirements including safety and regulatory requirements Develop and manage System requirements, models and documents (System and Subsystem Specifications, Product Breakdown Structure, Design Documents, component specifications, interface specifications, MBSE artefacts, etc.)
Undertake System Engineering activities in compliance with BAE Systems Engineering Lifecycle as specified in the Business Management System (BMS).
Specifically: requirements management, functional analysis, candidate solution development, system design, system analysis, integration, system tests, acceptance tests and certification Develop and execute system tests and agree component tests which will ensure that the implemented designs conform to their specifications Maintain the design and its documentation in accordance with the applicable configuration management, change management and traceability processes Independently review peers' work, identify technical risks and unknowns and support planning activities Derive, analyse and manage system/equipment requirements and participate in requirements reviews Develop simple system/equipment architectural designs to meet established set of requirements Undertake functional and circuit analysis to determine strengths and weaknesses of candidate electrical system/ equipment solutions Translate the system/equipment design into a manufacturable solution and incorporate changes as required Undertake engineering management of system/ equipment manufacture Undertake the integration and validation of the system/equipment design including contributing to the integration and validation plans and reports Support systems/equipment qualification activities to ensure that the product meets all requirements including safety and regulatory requirements Participate in problem identification and analysis.
About YOU Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or equivalent Good understanding of Systems Engineering practices and Engineering methods as applied to the development of military equipment and services Experience in effective use of Engineering Process, Methods, Tools and Infrastructure Ability to interact effectively with stakeholders both internal and external to BAE Systems to implement business requirements Demonstrated ability to work autonomously under time constraints, solve problems and make decisions Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Current Baseline Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain We believe in hiring for potential, we know that some candidates hesitate if they don't tick all the boxes.
