The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. Service Victoria and DGS are bringing important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services. We will invest in your skills and training, and you'll get to work side-by-side with experienced developers. We have used Agile methodology from the very start at scale. The role is in an Agile scrum team (a squad), working with other squads to understand and maintain the systems they've created. This is a 12month fixed term opportunity. Key Acountabilities: Work as part of the squad to undertake software analysis, design, development and testing. Develop and update software according to specifications, including for complex and novel features. Test & debug code, including setting up automated testing. Collaborate with software engineer to design solutions. Key Selection Criteria Designing and implementing microservices which use the NodeJS runtime and AWS platform. Knowledge of AWS technologies such as Lambda, S3, SQS, CloudFormation. Knowledge of "Serverless" application design principles. Beneficial to have experience in integration space using MuleSoft ESB and/or Springboard. An interest in software development trends.
