Your Day-to-Day: Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for: - Providing strategic financial guidance to the finance team and hotel leadership to align financial strategies with the hotel's goals. - Overseeing budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and offering insights to enhance profitability. - Supervising the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to hotel owners and the IHG Support Centre. - Ensuring compliance with financial regulations at all levels and establishing robust internal controls to protect assets and maintain the integrity of financial data. - Identifying and implementing cost-reduction initiatives while analysing financial information to spot trends and opportunities for improved efficiency. - Guiding, mentoring, and developing the finance team, fostering a culture of ongoing learning and professional growth. - Collaborating with the General Manager and department heads to support business strategies and financial decision-making, as well as working with regional and corporate finance teams on financial planning and analysis. This is a fixed-term role covering maternity leave for 12 months. We are open to negotiating either a full-time or part-time schedule, with a minimum commitment of 3-4 days per week. Additionally, flexible working arrangements can be discussed to accommodate your needs. What We Need From You: The ideal candidate will have: - Bachelor's degree or higher education qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce. - 5 years of experience in hotel accounting or audit, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role. - Knowledge of accounting management duties such as payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and internal controls. - Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to champion change and manage multiple projects. - A professional accounting or finance designation or certification is highly regarded. - Legal right to work in Australia Compensation: Competitive salary within the hospitality industry based on experience.
