Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain detailed project-related cost analysis and estimates, including materials, labour, equipment, and services, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project budgets. Provide consultation on planning, coordination, and cost control of projects. Implement and manage cost control systems to monitor project expenditures against budgets and forecasts, identifying and addressing overruns in a timely manner. Support the implementation and continuous improvement of cost control strategies in line with team and project requirements. Maintain project controls systems to ensure data integrity and accurate reporting is provided in a timely manner. Work with various functional areas across the authority (including project managers, procurement, commercial, legal, and finance teams) to ensure best project outcomes are achieved. Prepare and present detailed cost reports and forecasts to project managers and stakeholders, highlighting variances between actual and budgeted costs. Analyse project specifications to identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend cost-effective alternatives. Assess financial risks associated with project decisions and propose mitigation strategies to manage potential cost overruns. Develop and implement effective cost tracking and reporting methodologies. What you'll bring: Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, construction management (or similar), or relevant trade qualification and demonstrated experience. Minimum 2 years' experience working in a similar role within the construction, mining, or resource industry. Ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Strong understanding of cost control processes, capital estimates, and project forecasting. Knowledge and application of cost control principles. Experience in reviewing cost forecasts considering expenditure to date and construction programs. Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
