We exist to support and nurture older people to maintain meaning and purpose in their individual lives.Primary Purpose of the RoleThe Head Chef role will support the Resident Services Manager in the overall operations of the catering department complying with food safety legislation, infection control policies and the organisational strategic direction. The role will be responsible for the food planning, ordering and preparation for our consumers, including residents and staff, daily, in the Café, on-demand and for facility functions. The Head Chef will ensure a high standard of food production and cleanliness within the department in line with the required Food Safety Plan and relevant HACCP standards.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESEnsure residents, staff, and visitors a high quality of food and meals.Planning, preparing, and delivering the service within budget, KPIs, dietary and food safety constraints.Prepare and present food for functions, café, and an on-demand environment.Adhere to infection control policies and procedures in relation to food hygiene within the catering department.Continuously update knowledge of role responsibilities and compliance, including food safety, HACCP, Harbison policies and procedures, aged care standards and safety.Ordering of stock and supplies, stock rotation, stock taking and correct storage as per food safety and WHS requirements.Positively promote Harbison in line with our values and six pillars of customer experience.
