The Role
The Regional Force Surveillance Group (RFSG) is a lead contributor to the Army Indigenous Community Engagement and Development (AICED) strategy in northern Australia. RFSG is linked closely to delivering Closing the Gap elements.
As the Business Analyst, your contribution is critical to enabling decisions for influence and support in the region. Your team consists of a Unit Resource Manager, and habitual relationships with Junior Resource Managers located in the subordinate units.
Mentoring and training as part of professional development is likely to remain a feature of your duties. Your role in the Regional Force Surveillance Group includes overseeing financial and capability resource management.
The Business Analyst is recognised as the subject matter expert, and advises on moderate to complex business management and compliance issues. Other responsibilities include business analytics and trends analysis to inform decisions on resource allocations including salaries management, operating cash, and capability resources.
About our Team
Located in tropical Darwin, Headquarters Regional Force Surveillance Group generates and employs remote-area, land and littoral surveillance and reconnaissance capability in Australia's North and North-West in order to support Whole-of-Government efforts to maintain national sovereignty and border security.
The Group is people-focussed, and consists of approximately 1500 soldiers and officers. The Headquarters’ primary responsibility is to plan and co-ordinate surveillance effects across Northern Australia.
The Group is highly visible within Army, and attracts positive attention routinely for both our contribution to border protection operations, and for the commitment and participation through Closing the Gap initiatives.
The operations team consists of approximately eight staff who are broadly focussed on planning and co-ordinating the three subordinate Regiments to achieve these tasks. The BA has a close working relationship with the Operations Officer, and reports to the Group Commander, who is the senior officer.

5. Work in small teams, and manage and mentor less experienced resource managers;
6. See the purpose and positive outcomes generated for Indigenous soldiers and their communities through engagement with Army.
