The Position
A temporary full-time opportunity has become available for a Medical PHO in Adult Internal Medicine, working 76 hours per fortnight in rural Queensland.
Clinical Responsibilities
* Under the supervision of relevant Consultants, initiate, maintain and be responsible for the clinical care of patients.
* Supervise the day-to-day activities of junior medical staff to ensure appropriate standards of care are maintained and that junior medical staff are trained to adequately fulfill their duties.
* Participate in the provision of an on-call roster or shift roster to provide services out-of-hours, at night, and on weekends, as directed by the relevant Director.
Transfer and appointment expenses may be negotiated.
Health Service
You will be based at the primary teaching hospital of the well-established School of Rural and Remote Medicine, James Cook University Medical School, which plays an active role in medical student and junior doctor education. Clinical services provided include:

Essential Criteria
* Hold current registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
* To be 'on-call' or participate in shift rosters is a requirement of the position.
The Package
* Up to $70,000 in incentive payments may be available under the Queensland Health Workforce Attraction Incentive Scheme.
* Base salary ranges between $129,583 and $150,240 per annum (L4-L9).
* 12.75% employer superannuation contribution.
