About the role:
As a Principal Data Scientist, you will design and deliver AI solutions for LMG to stay ahead of our competition and drive value to our customers. You'll guide and inspire a team of talented data scientists, drive innovation and shape the future of our business. This is a highly influential role where you'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of our customers and the success of LMG.
This is a hybrid role (2 days in the office per week) that can be done from Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead advanced data science initiatives: Design and implement cutting-edge AI / ML solutions, leveraging emerging technologies and methodologies.
* Drive innovation and growth: Identify and address strategic data science challenges and opportunities, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
* Shape LMG's data science strategy: Define and execute the data science roadmap, aligning with the company's medium-term business goals and priorities.
* Mentor and guide a team of data scientists: Delegate responsibilities, monitor progress, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
* Communicate effectively with stakeholders: Serve as a subject matter expert, influencing decision-making and strategy through clear and compelling communication.
* Foster a collaborative and innovative environment: Encourage knowledge sharing and best practices within the data science team and across the organization.
To succeed in this role you will bring with you:
* PhD or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
* 10+ years of experience in data science, with a proven track record of leading and delivering impactful data-driven solutions.
* Deep expertise in advanced modeling techniques, LLMs, AI / ML algorithms, and emerging data science technologies.
* Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and guide a team of data scientists.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
* Experience with cloud platforms like Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its services (BigQuery, Vertex AI, etc.).
* A passion for innovation and a commitment to driving business value through data science.
