The Position
Reporting to the CEO, the General Manager of Operations (Ag Services) plays a key part in driving the success of one of the business models. Focusing on delivering services and influential relationships with the team, communities, and customers, this role requires a visionary leader who can oversee day-to-day cropping operations while strategically guiding the company's growth by meeting customer needs.
You will be responsible for all aspects of farming operations, commodity handling, and asset improvement, including:
* Maximizing customer value
* Management of land and equipment assets
* Team leadership and development
* Financial management
The Person
We are particularly interested in speaking with individuals who possess the following experience, key skills, and attributes:
* A successful track record in operational leadership within the agricultural or farming sector
* Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
* Demonstrated ability to lead and manage high-performing teams, fostering a positive work environment
* Experience in managing customer relationships, building strong partnerships, and delivering exceptional service
* Strong understanding of modern farming practices, grain handling, including sustainable principles
* Proficiency in agricultural technology, including precision agriculture, farm management software, and data analytics
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making
* Excellent financial acumen, including budget management, cost control, and performance analysis
