Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: About the role:The Construction Planner is a Perth based role with occasionally FIFO site visits when required, the role is responsible for progress monitoring of projects and managing the accuracy of reports submitted by contractors. The Construction Planner supports the Lead Planner in the leadership, management, and guidance of planning and scheduling activities for the HanRoy construction projects. The successful applicant will manage, monitor, and tracking progress throughout the life cycle of the project, including Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Construction, and Commissioning. The role ensures the project planning and scheduling requirements are met and provides the necessary support to achieve the project outcomes. Key responsibilities of the role include: Monitor and manage the Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Installation, and Commissioning of HanRoy Construction Projects, ensuring the accuracy of the reports. Monitor and track the progress of Mechanical and Electrical Packages and other major equipment, including fabrication and delivery to the site. Monitor and manage progress input on the Primavera Management tool for HanRoy Project Schedules throughout the life cycles of the projects. As directed by the Lead Planner, take ownership of the schedule to ensure that the schedule progress data from subcontractors, fabricators, and manufacturers is accurate. Review and analyse reported schedule variances in relation to project milestones and activities. Conduct progress report analysis and identify early deviations of progress plan vs. actual progress, recommending corrective actions to mitigate the variances. Assist Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical & Instrumentation contractors in developing Quantity Measurement Reports (QMR) using rules of credit and S-Curve. Manage and monitor site installation progress of Mechanical and Electrical packages using commodity trackers, rules of credit, and S-Curve. Assist and support the Lead Planner and project control in managing force reports and manning histograms. Assist the Lead Planner and project controls in preparing weekly and monthly reports. Support the McPhee Package Manager regarding construction progress reports, progress updates and other minor requirement. Work closely with both the contractors and the HanRoy management team to critically analyse and provide a scheduling position on all trends that may impact manning, resourcing, and the timeliness of deliverables. To be successful in this role, you will have: A Degree or Diploma in Business, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, Scheduling (Critical Path Analysis), or Procurement is desirable. 6 - 9 years of current and relevant experience. Proven track record and knowledge of engineering/construction industry contracting practices, applicable government & commercial regulations & practices, and policies, procedures, and work practices. Proven and current experience in the development and maintenance of detailed level 4 integrated Project schedules, including the provision of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction services across a multi-disciplined construction site. Current knowledge and experience of Project enabling environmental, mining, and government permitting and approvals requirements, processes, and procedures. Experience in the provision of scheduling and planning services that have contributed to the successful delivery of large Project-related contracts such as Design & Construct (D&C), Build Own & Operate (BOO), Service Contracts, Consultancies, etc. Experience in contract administration, home office & site procedures, and documents relating to a multi-discipline construction project is highly desirable. Demonstrated high level of Critical Path Analysis, specifically in relation to the formation of EOT claims. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 4 - 6+ years’ experience as a Scheduler/Planner, preferably within or servicing the mining sector or large infrastructure projects. Excellent conceptual, analytical, and planning skills. Excellent problem-solving skills. Deep knowledge of Primavera Management Software (P6), Microsoft Project, Excel spreadsheets, Power BI, and other planning tools.
