Matrix Composites and Engineering are seeking an experienced HR Manager to join their team and provide expert HR guidance to the management team. This role focuses on supporting the Senior Management Team and CEO, specifically in managing all people-related aspects of the business. The HR Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the HR service is proactive, cost-effective, and efficient, delivering value to the organisation while maintaining a strong focus on aligning people strategies with business goals. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of HR practices, a proven track record of strategic HR leadership, and the ability to manage complex HR matters with a strong business acumen.
Job Description
1. Develop and implement the HR strategy in alignment with the overall business plan to support company goals and objectives
2. Design and manage succession planning in collaboration with the leadership team to ensure a pipeline of talent for critical roles
3. Lead the recruitment strategy for the company, overseeing all professional appointments to ensure a skilled and diverse workforce
4. Lead the development and execution of training and development programs, including the Performance and Development Planning process
5. Provide expert advice on applicable legislation, including industrial instrument interpretation, to mitigate potential business risks and ensure compliance
6. Develop and manage the Remuneration & Benefits strategy, ensuring competitive and equitable compensation for employees
7. Conduct annual benchmarking reviews of remuneration and benefits to ensure market competitiveness and develop business cases for changes when needed
8. Provide strategic direction and oversight for HR reporting and analytics, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of monthly and ad-hoc reports
9. Develop strategies to promote diversity in the workplace, and provide coaching and support to the leadership team in its implementation
10. Ensure all HR practices comply with legislative requirements, company policies, and the organisation's values and behaviors
11. Lead regular audits within the HR function to ensure compliance and support continuous improvement
12. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance HR systems, streamline processes, and build team confidence and expertise
13. Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the HR team, developing direct reports and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
14. Ensure that all risks are identified, controlled, and managed effectively, and that personal protective equipment (PPE) is used and maintained properly.
15. Ensure all activities comply with federal, state, and local laws, corporate policies, data security requirements, and security protocols.
The Successful Applicant
1. Tertiary Qualification in HRM; Industrial Relations/Sociology, Organisational Psychology, or equivalent
2. Minimum of 7 years Senior HR or Managerial experience in HR
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
4. Results oriented with strong analytical, planning and organisation skills
5. Intermediate MS Office skills.
6. Proven leadership and management skills including mentoring, coaching & influencing skills to effect cultural change
7. Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing or chemical processing environment
8. Demonstrated experience managing payroll functions, including award and enterprise agreement interpretation and guidance
