Drive online advertising revenue sales for flicks.com.au, with a focus on direct and agency-side relationships. You'll also be responsible for establishing Flicks as an enticing challenger brand for the local media landscape.
In doing so, you'll be putting in place the foundation for establishing an Australian based Flicks sales team.
We want to be massive in Australia – replicating our success in NZ – and this position is step one!

Things you’ll be doing.
1. Driving advertising revenue across Australia – heading our agency and direct brand sales.
2. Building proposals to close business across all of Flicks’ advertising offerings (native, display, video, events). This involves understanding our client’s goals and translating those into well-executed campaigns to deliver results and meet the needs of briefs.
3. Developing an intimate understanding of Flicks and our advertising offering, and our position within the media industry.
4. Selling in Flicks as an exciting new, premium and unique audience/environment for advertisers to engage with.
5. Hitting sales targets.
New verticals:
6. Identifying potential advertisers, and setting up meetings with relevant brand or agency stakeholders to generate briefs that are the right fit for Flicks now.
7. As well as building long term relationships with potential advertisers, laying the groundwork for future sales to grow as Flicks’ audiences increase in Australia.
8. Identity potential long term strategic partnerships within key verticals.

Requirements
The kind of person we’re looking for
10. You are passionate about all things cinema and streaming. You are tenacious. As a start-up company on a scale-up journey, you operate with relenting, optimistic and passionate energy.
11. Commercially astute, as well as creatively minded media professional with 5+ years of experience in a digital advertising position with a publisher, or with equivalent experience on the agency-side.
12. In Melbourne, you’ll be catching up and working with our two Australian-based staff, you’ll also be well-supported by Flicks HQ in New Zealand. Being our only Australian sales staff member – you will need to be a self-starter, comfortable working autonomously.
13. A leader – team player and effective communicator who can make decisions, think laterally, and uncover new opportunities.
14. Someone who can hit the ground running – with an existing presence in the industry and contacts to lean on.
15. Is motivated by building Flicks in Australia - creating trusting relationships with clients and stakeholders, and laying the groundwork for an increasing presence.
