An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Queensland Registered Nurse to join our OHST Team at Ravenswood Gold. This casual opportunity will report to the Nursing Supervisor and OHST Superintendent and supports all departments on site as well as the local community. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE • Provide pre-hospital emergency medical treatment and first aid as required for mine and community. • Maintain the site medical clinic and medical supplies on site to ensure a timely, coordinated and professional response. • Maintain medical records. • Conduct drug and alcohol testing. • Occupational Health Monitoring (lead, mercury, noise, dust) • Evaluate medicals and functionals for approval of site access. • Develop and promote health and wellbeing programs. • Co-ordinate the management of workers compensation claims and injury management • Conduct fitness for work assessments, periodical health assessments etc. • Work with onsite Injury Management and provide return to work plans. • Provide front line training and coaching guidance to site emergency rescue teams. • Conduct on site vaccinations as required (e.g. hepatitis, tetanus, and flu vaccinations) • Maintain any on site drug compliance including stock takes and stock orders of approved Medications (Schedule 2, 3, 4, 8) according to our general approval for medicines. • Foster continued relationships with RFDS, QAS and other external medical providers. • Provide emergency medical assistance to the local community. • Conduct regular training on the use of defibrillators and medical related issues to individuals. • Participate in and audit function to measure, report and recommend with regards to health and medical management and best practice. • Assist with analysis and interpretation of health data, and reporting requirements to meet corporate requirements and are completed and distributed in a timely manner. ABOUT YOU Mandatory: • Must have current APHRA Registration for Nurses (Registered Nurse) • Minimum of 5 years’ post grad experience, with preference to emergency dept or ICU. • Computer skills (intermediate computer skills, including competence with Microsoft Office Suite) • ACLS Level 1 (Must be willing to obtain this if successful) • PHTLS or REC (Must be willing to obtain this if successful) • Valid and current C-Class Manual Driver’s Licence • Current Basic First Aid certificate (or be willing to obtain if successful) Highly regarded: • Cyanide Management (or be willing to obtain this if successful) • Certified as an authorised Drug and Alcohol tester • Regional or remote experience • Experience in injury management and Injury prevention • Immunisation qualifications • Rehabilitation & Return to Work Coordinator qualifications • Well developed written and verbal communication skills • Genuine desire to help people and achieve solid outcomes • Ability to work autonomously in a semi-remote environment • Proved experience to work successfully within a dynamic team and work environment • Experience with working in a pre-hospital setting • Experience with Workhab program. • Emergency response experience Nestled 120kms south of Townsville, in the vibrant landscapes of north-east Queensland, Ravenswood Gold Mine stands as a testament to both a rich legacy and the forefront of innovation.
