We now have an exciting opportunity for experienced Wagon Maintainers to join the team on 38hrs a week casual based in Gladstone Altona. The Wagon Maintainers will be required to perform examinations and provide maintenance of rail rolling stock, in accordance with established procedures and protocols thereby assuring a safe working environment with compliance with the Rail Safety and OH&S regulations on site and in-field operations.
Key Responsibilities:Performing full mechanical inspections of rolling stock to minimum Railways of Australia engineering standards and practicesComplete wagon wheel changesECP SCAT Testing & fault findingEnsure all required documentation and certification is completed correctly and in a legible mannerInterface with transport company and shunting contractors during rolling stock marshalling and depot operations via radio networkEffective communication of inspection results to company operations personnel and Workshop SupervisorEnsure in-house security of the workshop, workshop vehicles and equipmentCarry out all reasonable instruction and perform all reasonable tasks as directed by your SupervisorAssist in carrying out all repairs and services to company and clients rolling stockAble to work flexible hours including overtime, shift work and weekends.Minimum Requirements:Experience in rolling stock/railway equipmentExposure to hydraulic/pneumatic systemsSound knowledge of occupational health and safety regulationsSound general engineering knowledgeGood written and verbal communication skillsSound organisational skillsRailway track access/rail awareness certificateMust be fit to perform Rail Safety Worker duties to Category 2 levelThe successful candidate will be required to undertake a pre-employment rail medical, drug and alcohol test, and provide a current police check.
