Shipping, Logistics and Procurement Coordinator
We are an Australian owned and operated market leader in the home decor and homewares industry. With more than 50 years’ experience, we have built a reputation for our diverse, bespoke and innovative products. We have an in-house design team and manufacture many of our products onsite.
Our brands are loved throughout Australia with some of our range being sold by retailers across the world (U.S, Canada, U.K, Asia, Europe). We are seeking an experienced logistics (Import, Export and FOB Export) & purchasing coordinator with advanced Excel skills to join our happy team in the Eastern Suburbs.
This is a varied, fast-paced but exciting role which will see you working closely with team members across all departments.
Some of your duties will include but will not be limited to:
1. International Container FOB direct to customer and importing direct to our local warehouse.
2. Local FOB of containers direct to our Australian customers.
3. Providing exceptional customer service, predominately via email to a range of local and international clients ensuring their needs are met and container/orders are fulfilled on time, as specified and in line with our supplier service agreements.
4. Use your advanced Excel skills to manipulate data, create costings, maximize container space and create new spreadsheets in line with company and customer needs.
5. Co-ordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, shipping agents and forwarders to ensure products are manufactured and shipped expeditiously, in line with their priority and required timeframes/delivery times while ensuring container utilization is optimized and cost-effective.
6. Prepare shipping documentation for export shipments from China direct to worldwide destinations including Australia.
7. Maintain Master shipping database to monitor and track all shipments, communicating with our internal team and external customers regarding shipping times and updated ETA’s.
8. Analyse and optimize our international logistics operations, identifying key areas for improvement.
9. Remain up to date with international trade regulations, customs and regulatory compliance.
10. Importing raw and finishing materials, local purchasing, costing and some inventory management.
11. Overseeing the receipt of international freight by our warehouse team.
12. Sourcing best/more economical freight deals and freight-related consumables/materials.
13. Sourcing product at the most cost-effective prices without compromising on quality making sure we have enough, but not too much.
We know you will be successful if you have:
1. Advanced (and we mean super advanced) MS Excel skills.
2. Demonstrated experience in International Shipping in a similar role.
3. Fluent English skills (both written and verbal; Chinese speaking would be great, but this is by no means mandatory).
4. Great negotiation skills and a love for numbers.
5. Attention to detail, can-do attitude and collaborative approach.
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment at times.
