With over $1.5 billion in funds under investment, QLeave, is a trusted statutory body dedicated to managing portable long service leave for workers in the building and construction, contract cleaning, and community service industries. They ensure financial stability and longevity of each of the portable long service leave schemes.
As part of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and reporting directly to the General Manager, the Lead Legal Counsel offers great breadth, exposure and strategic legal leadership based on emerging complexity and the need to support decision making that enhances the future state of QLeave. This role provides standalone legal support to two large programs of remediation activities and needs to engage with QLeave's internal legal function to ensure coordination of activities that intersect business as usual operations.
You will be responsible for driving strategic legal decision making, providing complex advice to the General Manager and the program teams and assurance of external advice provided by their legal partners. Through building professional relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders you will ensure your understanding of legal risks, operational responsibilities and the impact of your advice on QLeave's operations.
A Senior legal executive with business partnering experience, you will offer superior legal and strategic thinking with the ability to balance legal risks, against business and commercial objectives. With the ability to interpret and apply legislation, and policies and procedures, you will be accustomed to providing high level strategic legal advice often in complex and dynamic environments

This role requires admission or eligibility for admission to practise as a solicitor or barrister in Queensland.
