Based in Northern Queensland, the mine employs a combination of long hole open stoping and sub level caving mining methods. The deep sections of the mine are seismically active, often experiencing rock defamation in the shoulders subject to high stress. The Roster & Camp Facilities Enjoy a FIFO position on an 2:2 roster with options to fly out of with Brisbane, Cairns or Townsville. Camp and meals are provided at accommodation in fully equipped camp with transfers organised from the airport. Other benefits include; - Chartered flight to a nearby airport on company time Your choice of either a Mon-Mon, Weds-Weds or Thurs-Thurs roster Accommodation at walking distance to the mine site Gourmet meals crafted with care by their seasoned resident chefs The Role Reporting to the Senior Mine Surveyor, you'll work closely within a supportive technical services team, delivering daily survey services to ensure mining operations are carried out efficiently and safely. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Operate survey equipment and apply best practices to generate precise survey data efficiently. Set up survey stations to guide mining direction accurately. Perform exact mark-ups of designs for both horizontal and vertical development. Produce high-quality survey plans and memos promptly, as needed. Carry out development pick-ups and keep as-built survey models updated accurately. Conduct CMS surveys as needed, ensuring result validation. Complete end-of-month surveys for both underground and surface areas. Perform small-scale aerial surveys across mining leases. Execute surface set-outs and pickups. Handle various additional survey tasks as required. Keep survey equipment well-maintained, ensuring calibration and adjustments meet standards. Your Value A tertiary qualification in surveying, science, geomatics, or a related field 3 years' experience working in an underground hard rock mining environment Proficiency with mining industry software such as GEOVIA Surpac and Pix4D Mapper Familiarity with Leica Survey Instruments (desirable) Experience in drone operation with RePL certification (desirable) Strong numerical skills What's Next?
