About the Role
Zenith is currently recruiting for a Protection and Power Systems Engineer. Reporting directly to the Engineering Services Manager, the purpose of the role is the safety, reliability, and efficiency of Electrical Systems through protection studies and System Analyses.
Responsibilities Will Include
* Work on isolated remote grids size 20MW to over 200MW and medium voltage systems.
* Review the HV Submissions.
* Review and upgrade existing Protection Relay setpoints, equations, and logics to enhance protection scheme reliability.
* Assist the Operations team with fault finding.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, control and commissioning teams, and engineering and operations divisions.
* Mentor the team, fostering a collaborative culture to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
About You
As the Protection and Power Systems Engineer, you will have the following experience, knowledge, and skills to bring to the role:
* BA or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications.
* In-depth knowledge and experience in the operation of Synchronous Machines.
* Proven power system protection engineering, with hands-on protection studies.
* Proven experience in Protection Relay programming.
* Experience with DigSILENT PowerFactory is desirable.
* Experience in PLC programming is an advantage.
* Highly developed communication skills with an ability to communicate at all levels.
* The ability to motivate a diverse team.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Strong understanding of current Australian and International Standards.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex electrical protection systems.
* Ability to pass a National Police Certificate.
* Ability to pass a Pre-employment Medical.
* Right to Work in Australia.
