Come and join our growing team in Northwest Tasmania (Burnie/Devonport area) where we are currently recruiting for a Career Coach to provide innovative employment supports to persons with a disability.Let Us Tell You About The Role Immediate start with some flexibility in your day as a career coach, the key focus is building the capacity of people to gain meaningful work.This position requires confidence and a positive attitude.Reporting to the Community Engagement and Skills Development Supervisor, as a Career Coach you will plan, co-ordinate, monitor and celebrate each participant's success.We work with people to identify their goals and aspirations, build skills and job-readiness, and support people in employment.We also work with prospective employers helping to carve new roles within work sites.As a Career Coach you will be expected to use networks within the business community and referral sources promoting opportunities for each participant.About You You will possess: Knowledge and capability to deliver contemporary and innovative services in the disability sector gained through applicable experience training, education and experience.Extensive practical experience providing support to people with disabilities.Ability to engage with, motivate, train and mentor teams to ensure delivery of high-quality supports.Sound written and verbal communication skills including the ability to undertake reporting, consultation, mediation and produce correspondence.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong and mutually beneficial internal and external relationships.Problem solving, consultation, teamwork and negotiation skills. What is essential?An appropriate Certificate level qualification, which is recognised by Oak Possability and is relevant to the work required to be performed, or experience deemed to be equivalent.Previous experience in providing community-based employment or employment preparation, with an emphasis on 'place and train' models of support.Demonstrated experience in supervising a team on a day-to-day basis to achieve a required outcome.Time management skills and ability to work independently. What is desirable?Experience in both the Disability sector and Youth Services.Have access to an existing community network within the area of the role.High level of IT skills in word processing and email programs.High level of written and comprehension skills.Advanced communication and interpersonal skills to build strong and mutually beneficial relationships.Intermediate problem solving, consultation and negotiation skills.Demonstrated ability to work effectively and make informed decisions under pressure.Have initiative, but also a systematic approach to the role. Other Requirements Needed For The Role A current NDIS Worker Screening Check (must be maintained).A current Working with Vulnerable Check (must be maintained).A current national Police Check (must be maintained).A current unrestricted driver's licence (must be maintained).Fully vaccinated against Covid 19.First Aid and CPR certificates.
