Trade Manager, Food and Fibre Exports Salary: $109,730 - $132,764 (Plus Superannuation) Fixed term role: until 30 June 2027 Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available) Usual work location: Gippsland including Mornington Peninsula (flexibility may be available) The Role Reporting to the Senior Manager, Food and Fibre Exports, the regionally based Trade Manager leads and implements Austrade TradeStart services and activities on behalf of Global Victoria, the official trade promotion and facilitation branch within the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) of the Victorian Government. TradeStart is Austrade's key partnership model for delivering export advisory services to Australian businesses. Global Victoria's partnership with Austrade to deliver TradeStart in regional Victoria, is to provide new and established Victorian exporters with practical trade advice, build export plans and capability, and provide tangible connections to global markets through Austrade and Victorian Government Trade and Investment Offices (VGTIs). At times the role requires providing timely advice on regional and sectoral issues and opportunities across food and beverage categories, that impact future government support programs. The role works collaboratively with Global Victoria and Austrade offices, Regional Development Victoria, Agriculture Victoria, and local authorities, to strengthen information sharing and client referral pathways. It requires dual usage of client relationship management systems (CRMs) of the Australian and Victorian Government and knowledge base intranets, including a solid understanding of agrifood industries. Main responsibilities: Provide new and established Victorian exporters (clients) with one-on-one specialist trade advice, build export plans and capability, and provide tangible connections to global markets through Austrade and Victorian Government Trade and Investment Offices (VGTIs). Proactively identify priority clients across key food and beverage sectors, evaluate their market readiness and capability and provide effective business development assistance and referrals. Frequently analyse current trends, industry data and global market intelligence to offer relevant and timely advice to businesses, the Austrade network, and Victorian Government stakeholders.
