About the role
The Director, Planning Environment & Place provides expert project-wide leadership and strategic direction for all Planning and Environment, Urban Design, and Sustainability matters.
The Level Crossing Removal Project is delivered via a matrixed organisational structure with several delivery teams, working in an Alliance model. The Planning and Environment and Place teams work to support the delivery teams by establishing and operating management systems, providing expert advice and support on technical matters, facilitating relationships with regulators and stakeholders, and undertaking project work as co-located team members.
In this role, you will
1. Lead the strategic approach and oversee the development, implementation and assurance of the Planning Environment and Place functions for the evel Crossing Removal Project.
2. Develop strong relationships across VIDA and with relevant regulators and stakeholders
3. Exercise excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to pre-empt and mitigate project risks in relation to all Planning Environment and Place matters

This is a 3-year fixed term position, paying a total renumeration package (TRP) between $279,239 - $401,017.

4. A passion for delivering great outcomes for the Victorian community
5. Expertise in, and extensive working knowledge of the Victorian and Commonwealth legislation, approvals processes and compliance procedures relevant to the development and delivery of major infrastructure projects.
6. Experience in leading large, high performing, multi-disciplinary teams
7. Demonstrated ability to be strategic, drive continuous improvement, and provide sound advice on complex technical matters
8. A relevant qualification in a Planning related discipline is mandatory.
