Supports licensed staff: Assist with patient care activities as directed by therapist. Activities are specific to each area and may include, but are not limited to:Patient room/treatment area set ups for treatmentSet up patients on exercise equipmentActivities related to video fluoroscopic swallow studiesProvide second person assistObtain assistive devices (Hoyer, Spryte, etc.) as neededObtain durable medical equipment and paperworkb. Provides treatment to assigned patients as appropriate under the direct supervision of clinical staffc. Performs activities that help maintain flow of patient care in the department.Environment and Department Maintenance/Infection Controla. Assists in the maintenance of the department’s overall physical environmentb. Maintains practices according to infection control guidelines for the departmentc. Monitors pool chemistry per departmental guidelines as applicable to aread. Cleans and disinfects equipment per departmental guidelinese. Performs and documents quality control of identified equipmentf. Documents temperature checks of identified equipmentg. Performs daily, weekly, and monthly departmental checklistsh. Maintains organization and cleanliness of the DME and supply closetsi. Completes audits for walkers, gait belts and chairs on patient units as applicable to areaClerical Duties: Performs clerical duties to assist with daily operations of the department including:Scheduling appointments as applicable to areaAnswering phonesCalling patients as directedInventory managementPhotocopying and filingFaxing and scanningData collectionDaily/weekly/monthly departmental checklistsCo-payment/payment collection as applicableCommunicationa.
