Hybrid role - full time hours $66.38 per hour super Band 6 Laptop provided Start early Dec The key objectives of the position are: Assess subdivision and development landscape plans and provide advice to ensure that open space, streetscapes and general landscapes are developed in accordance with Council objectives. Provide general advice on the provision and placement of open space in new subdivisions at the direction of the Team Leader Landscape Planning. Contribute to the development of policy, standards and guidelines relating to landscape development and water sensitive urban design. Participate, when required, in the Open Space Planning Group in relation to capital works projects and policy development. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Planning Assessment and Implementation Responsibilities & Duties. Liaise and provide direction to developers on open space and landscaping in new subdivisions in accordance with Council’s guidelines, policies, and strategies. Assess development proposals for Greenfield subdivisions and major development sites and provide advice regarding the location and need for open space and landscaping under the supervision of the Team Leader Landscape Planning. Prepare assessments of Planning Permit applications and provide advice regarding the retention of existing vegetation in consultation with the Environment Department and Bushland Planner, at the direction of the Team Leader Landscape Planning. Provide planning permit conditions in relation to open space, streetscapes and vegetation protection for consideration by the Team: Leader Landscape Planning, in accordance with Council’s guidelines, policies and strategies. Prepare assessments of master plans, concept and detailed landscape development plans in accordance with permit conditions and Council Landscape Guidelines and policies. Maintain the relevant databases and systems to accurately track landscape planning processes, and timing of handover of landscaped area maintenance to Council. Undertake inspections for the handover of open space and streetscapes from developers to Council, at the commencement and completion of maintenance periods. Provide landscape planning advice on a range of minor planning permit applications such as medium density developments, industrial sites and major buildings. Prepare and amend landscaping guidelines when required and as directed by the Team Leader Landscape Planning.
