About the Role

Responsibilities Include:
1. Liaise regularly with key regional government and non-government agencies involved in the child protection services system and represent the region at state wide departmental and child protection forums, inter-governmental and inter-sectoral child protection meetings.
2. Provide the key point of contact for the region in relation to student protection activities and regularly link with government and non-government agencies involved in the child protection system including the Department of Children, Youth Justice and Multicultural Affairs, the Queensland Police Service, Queensland Health and Family and Child Connect.
3. Ensure that all school based and regional staff are trained in relation to student protection legislation, policies, procedures and reporting processes and clearly understand legislated and departmental reporting obligations.
4. Provide best practise advice to school based and regional staff on individual student matters, including reporting suspected harm, referral to early intervention and prevention services and sharing information in accordance with legislation and departmental policies.
