This role ensures credit quality and risk compliance while maintaining high service levels and member experience. The manager plays a vital role in driving Capricorn’s strategic agenda of Experience and Growth and acts as a change champion to achieve these goals.Capabilities RequiredSkills, Knowledge and AttributesProven track record of excellent people leadership skillsSound knowledge of lending practices including AML, risk management principles, procedures and other regulatory requirementsStrong customer service ethics and delivery focusStrong credit assessment and writing skills to facilitate deal approval or escalation to the next level of authority should an application fall outside your delegated lending authorityStrong communication skills including the ability to establish and manage positive relationships with staff, colleagues, key stakeholders and MembersAbility to manage high volumes of transactions with high value whilst achieving strict deadlines and ensuring accuracyAbility to manage stakeholders both upstream and downstream, across multiple business unitsA keen desire and ability to review and implement process improvements and to establish a culture of continuous improvementStrong end to end process re-engineering skills, Six Sigma training would be advantageousProblem solving and ability to think outside the boxFlexibility to work additional hours and assist team members during peak periodsA thorough understanding of relevant legislation, policies and AML frameworkExperienceA minimum of five years’ recent credit risk experience in banking, finance and/or accountingAt least five years’ experience managing a team.Experience with relevant accounting and banking software.Proficiency in the use of MS Office Software Suite.Previous experience managing projects for continuous improvement to ensure processes are streamlined and efficient.QualificationsSecondary educationA relevant tertiary level qualification in a businessCertificate IV or higher in Financial ServicesManagement or a related discipline is preferredA little on life at CapricornOur community at Capricorn always comes first, and a big part of that community is our team.
