General/Business Unit Manager (CEO & General Management)Full timeSalary: $198,972 - $226,057 + super according to experienceCBR Recruitment is delighted to partner with the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation (FRDC) to recruit the key role of General Manager, Strategy and Innovation.FRDC takes a leading role in planning and investing in fisheries research, development and extension (RD&E) to support the ongoing sustainability of Australia's aquatic sectors and aquatic ecosystems.Position Overview:We are seeking a General Manager, Strategy and Innovation to lead the Strategy and Innovation Team to drive strategy development, internal innovation and investment in innovation across industry. The role reports directly to the Managing Director and contributes to planning, strategy creation and execution, external stakeholder management, intelligence gathering, and performance monitoring. This position would be well-suited to a decisive, creative, and strategic leader with a keen interest in Australian fishing and aquaculture sectors.Key Responsibilities:Board management, including the provision of strategic advice against FRDC's Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and the Research and Development (R&D) Plan.Planning and Strategy Development through reviewing and updating FRDC strategies based on ongoing feedback and intelligence.Playing a key role within the Executive Leadership Team through being a role model, holding others to account and ensuring FRDC achieves its organisational strategies.Driving innovation through promoting cross-functional collaboration and identifying internal and external opportunities for innovation.Intelligence gathering and seeking feedback to inform strategy development.Performance monitoring and analysing metrics to assess and review strategies.Fostering key strategic relationships with investors and identifying and fostering opportunities to realise the R&D plan.The skills and experience we are seeking:Knowledge of the Australian fishing industry and a demonstrated understanding of the science of business and fisheries.Experience in a senior management role with a collaborative leadership style.A keen focus on innovation.Skills in strategy development, business development, and revenue generation.The ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of high-level external stakeholders.Relevant tertiary qualifications are desirable.Reward:You will be rewarded with an attractive executive level remuneration package, excellent working conditions, and the opportunity to be part of a cohesive team committed to Australia's fishing and aquaculture sectors.How to Apply:To express your interest in the role or to obtain the Position Information Pack, please call Adam Kowalski from CBR Recruitment on 02 6103 7000, or click "Apply".
