About the role
The Radiation Therapist participates in a broad range of activities to ensure a high quality treatment planning and treatment delivery service to meet the needs of the patient and fulfil the Radiation Oncologists treatment prescription. The incumbent will work under reducing professional direction and through additional training/experience perform more complex radiation therapy services (planning/treatment) using specialised equipment requiring the selection and application of standardised techniques and methodologies. The incumbent will provide assistance to less experienced radiation therapists, students on placement and work experience students. The Radiation Therapist will contribute to approved research programs and the departmental quality control programs.
Qualification
4. Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification, which entitles a statement of accreditation in Radiation Therapy from the Australian Institute of Radiography, or its recognised equivalent (up to July 2012) and then registration with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (post July 2012).
