About the role The role of the Senior Security and Rail Operational Systems Engineer is responsible for, but not limited to:
Achieve engineering targets and objectives as defined in the project program, and as directed by line manager.Provide input and be responsible for the production of Project Documentation (Design Reports, Drawings, Programs, Calculations, Bills of materials, Quality Plans, Project Document Management Plans, etc).Monitor and control design costs within budget and liaise with management in relation to any design changes.Ensure that all elements of the design are coordinated between all design team members.Ensure that all necessary reviews, verifications and validations are planned and conducted, and the outcomes of these are incorporated into the design.Provide mentoring to graduate engineers and design engineers where required.Adhere to company policies and other applicable laws, regulations and standards for the workplace.Undertake any adhoc projects, initiatives, tasks as directed by the Line Manager.Technical Requirements: Experience with design and commissioning of Electronic Access Control systems, preferably including Tecom products.Experience with design and commissioning of CCTV systems (IP based cameras, and legacy analogue cameras). Knowledge of Geutebruck and/or Milestone video management systems preferable.Experience with design and commissioning of Public Address systems (including hearing aid loops), IP Telephones, and Passenger Information Devices such as LED/LCD information displays.Experience with data rack and comms cabinet design and layout, cabling design, and the ability to create single line diagrams and schematics as per AU standards/state government standards.Understanding of communications networks, fibre optic cabling and fibre optic infrastructure.Understanding of interfacing protocols such as Ethernet, RS485, DNP3, Modbus.Understanding of physical security principles and cyber security.Understanding of Australian and State Government standards for Security and Telecommunications equipment.Understanding of relevant electrical safety and standards.Knowledge of Queensland Rail systems and standards preferable.About You RPEQ preferred.
